Shaking Ravens

Quiet Reckoning

Shaking Ravens takes its name from a symbol deeply rooted in connection and intuition. My brother Shannon felt attuned to the Raven—his spirit animal. He never explained why. He didn’t have to. We spoke often without words, and in that quiet knowing, I’ve come to understand what the Raven held for him.

The Raven does not shake from fear, but from profound feeling—from sensing a truth that must be shared. It arrives with urgency, carrying prophetic messages born of deep ache and longing. This is not a distant or abstract truth, but one that lives within us—revealing, unsettling, and ultimately transformative. By grace, we come to recognize what we’ve always known.

Mystical yet grounded to the core, the Raven reminds us of what is, what was, what is still unfolding, and what will always remain. That knowing—sometimes subtle, sometimes unruly—lies at the heart of Quiet Reckoning. Named for a single song but echoing throughout, the album’s landscape is one in which restraint gives way to urgency, creating space for deep accounting. Memory, regret, and hope intermingle across past, present, and future; in that fluidity, time becomes boundless. Meanings emerge around an unrelenting desire to be seen, opening a path toward reconciliation with loss and grief, where humor and reverence can coexist.

The songs live in a space between stillness and revelation, where feeling trembles into sound. They are not bound to volume or mood, but to a process of unfolding and becoming—even when the truth arrives loud, sideways, or unexpected. Quiet Reckoning invites the listener into that tension: where intuition meets disruption, where what is felt refuses to stay hidden, and where revelation comes not from efforting but through reflection and recognition.
